On 16th July 2019, Parliamentarians from governing Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) and main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) party alongside their colleagues from the smaller Coalition for Change (C4C) and National Grand Coalition (NGC) parties as well as Independently elected MPs and Paramount Chief MPs, were agreed with Speaker of Parliament for the House of Parliament to be closed indefinitely until such time as the House will decide to re-open.

“The Parliament of Sierra Leone has gone on recess and the House is therefore adjourned “sine die” stated a news report sent to Awareness Times Newspaper from the Public Relations Department of Parliament.
